TBH panda... troll isnt that neccesary in RA or TA. Mending touch definatly is though, so his build does fail.
I wouldnt run purge on an R/mo. Rangers are the worst class to bring purge sig.

Granted, though you'll probably take a few deaths that could've been saved from troll depending on whether you get a monk or not.
Meh, rangers are okay to run purges on, though far from optimal. Back in the day I used to run purge on rangers in TA builds in builds where there was no other possible place to put it. When it was necessary to run either purge or expel, in some builds you'd simply HAVE to put it on the ranger. As long as your ranger comes equipped for it (-5 weapon, -2 offhand, +5 bow), it's usable.

Still have an optional slot, and I don't always run cancel stances, prefer to use the extra slot for something else. such as thrust as you say

You'll still fail w/o monk most of the time, and prefered purge over mend touch, but it isn't hard to swap
purge can just take away a whole bunch of hexes wich some mesmer/necros like to stack upon on amonk for some reason, for free (using negative weapons of course, but you should always carry those, even if it's just for die > ressurect)
And still got optional for troll, wich I usually carry anyway

I play caster or monk 90% of the time, but I played some RA with this inspired by the HA sinway unblockable build (I don't know if this is anything new though, don't bitch at me):
[skill]Avatar of Lyssa[/skill][skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill][skill]Nine Tail Strike[/skill][skill]Pious Haste[/skill][skill]Imbue Health[/skill][skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Dagger: 12
Mystiscism: 14
When your avatar is up, it does crazy DPS. When it's down, don't spam your attacks too much (these days RA matches don't last that long anyway, + the downtime of the avatar is a mere 120-85 = 35 seconds). Only use Pious Haste when your Fury is down, of course.

it's random arena's
most people can't even follow targets, so there is nothing to worry about, as long as you're not facing some air ele. Seen the amount of caster sins, balthazar dervishes etc, they won't switch. I guess they didn't even see I used frenzy, because they were still busy rambo'ing the monk ..

Still there will be times when you encounter a group that are decent and do have air eles that are watching your every move. Trust me, you just need to get hit with lightning orb once while frenzying and it can end games

e/a savannah heat spiker
Been playing around with this in RA for a bit now.
Attributes:12+3+1 fire
12 deadly
3+1 energy storage
skills: [skill]Deadly Paradox[/skill][skill]Savannah Heat[/skill][skill]Dark Prison[/skill][skill]Iron Palm[/skill][skill]Entangling Asp[/skill][skill]Augury of Death[/skill][skill]Signet of Toxic Shock[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
usage: Stay in the backlines until the rest of your team is fighting. Target someone (preferably a caster) who nobody is fighting. Use deadly paradox, run and cast savannah heat followed by dark prison and iron palm. when your target gets up follow up with entangling asp. then use augury of death and signet of toxic shock.

Build to beat the best, you don't have to worry about the bad ones either way.

If you want to build to beat people who suck, no frenzy cancel is good. If you want to win, bring a cancel.

Since this is for RA and most people there do suck, you can do without frenzy. It isn't the best option, but it can easily be done. However, it isn't the lack of cancel for frenzy that gives problems on that bar, it is the lack of a speedboost.

I find a lot of games playing as warrior i cant actually touch frenzy since i have 2 retard balthazars stuck to me and a braindead assassin with a staff.
It gets worse if you have FoW and some nice gear, they seem to feel the need to prove their strength as a strong paladin by doing nothing but following you around spamming sever artery.

Fun one:
Glyph of Sacrifice-Ancestors Rage-Ride the Lightning-Shock-Lightning Bolt-Blinding Flash-Air Attunement-Rez Sig
GoS -> Ancestor's -> RTL -> Shock -> Lightning Bolt for spike; use Lightning Bolt and Ancestor's for pressure as RTL recharges, Bflash for physicals.

I don't know what teams those people are playing for, but I know I never forget a cancel stance, because 90% of the time I get attacked as soon as I use it.

From what I understand, that doesn't work anymore. That was the reason that ancestor's was changed back to an enchantment.

It works with GoS as ancestor's is a skill now, not a spell.
No way near as effective as the old version as you can only use the combo every 40 seconds or so.
